most of us def don't, but u overlook the fact that some of the posters here are actually on the adcoms; they def DO have qualifications to judge u, cuz they're doing it for real anyway.

and the rest of us jus give out personal opinions, which if stated with some maturity, may help fellow applicants. Also, some of us been through the app process and got in somehow so that means smthing. Tho indeed i really don't see any purpose in chances threads after the app deadlines are over. (except for emotional support)

Unclehan (and anyone else)--a related question. Will a 730 in SAT II Physics (lol and I think I got 720 second time, oy!) really put that big of a dent in an application that's pretty heavily focused on math/sci? I have 800 on the IIc, 5s on AP Phys B and Calc AB, made Siemens national finalist, Intel national finalist, etc., so I'm not particularly worried, lol but all this "Get 800 on all math/sci SAT IIs or you die" talk isn't particularly comforting when I seem to have trouble mastering this one test ;)

MattBowes -- sometimes stats debates can get obnoxious, but I think this one hasn't gotten out of hand. And Ben Jones from MIT has a wise insight -- even those who vote on the decisions at the end can't really judge chances until the whole package is complete. So when I answer these, I try to give general advice useful to everyone when crafting an application.

GuitarManARS -- no. That's the whole point of having lots of achievements (like Intel, etc.) -- they wash out one screwup here and there. Don't tell anyone, but my SATI Math wasn't perfect, and look! I'm here! :)

Ben Golub.. hows pasadena?? lots gangster???

my friend almost got shot there >.<"

Hey Matt!!!

Anonamous...I agree with getalife, you should probably submit your toefl score...not that I know much about that sort of thing...but it would probably help out.

If your recommendations / other stuff in your rec is strong, maybe it will offset any low scores you have...I don't think low scores are at all neccesarily representative of how well someone will do at a college, at least to some degree, and I'm sure the admission people recognize that.

Anyway good luck :)

hey mary!

ahh, the internet is a beautiful place.
