Chances (will chance back)

GPA UW: 3.77 W: 4.06
Took all honors classes since 8th grade (took high school classes as a middle schooler). School only offers around 6 APs, taking 3 total and self-studying another one this year
Upward trend. Mostly Bs in 8th and 9th grade, only improved from there. My GPA for this year is 4 UW.

Current schedule: all APs, dual enrollment, honors

Rank: 8 out of 132 (top 10%)

SAT/ACT: 1910 super scored…feel like this might not help me very much

APs: a 4 in US history and 4 in World history

ECs: 4 years of dance, several recitals each year at many different colleges, benefit recitals to help the community, awards given by instructor.

This year, will have 120+ hrs tutoring disabled peers.

Sent in photography supplement, and I’m pretty proud of the work I sent in

Essays: pretty good I guess, it’s all subjective (made some readers cry, but others were indifferent)

Recs: pretty good? I couldn’t read mine

Hooks: I’m half Filipino (don’t know if this is considered URM) and half white. First-gen, my mother didn’t finish high school, and father is working class. Low income. Extremely unique school circumstances where I go to a completely different school 2,000 miles away for a quarter each year.

You dont have any schools listed so…

HYPS: hail mary
Rest of Ivy Leauge/Berkeley Georgetown etc: Reach, but you’ll have a much better shot with a higher SAT
UVA/NYU/Michigan/Boston College level: low reach/match: your ECs will work fine for these, and your SAT shouldn’t make too big of an impact

I’m not sure what your total GPA is. It would probably need to be at least a 3.8 total to get into Colby. As for test scores, I’d say you need to get around a 31 or 32 on the ACT to be competitive (That’s roughly between 2000-2100 on the SAT I believe). It’s a reach school for you right now, but if you improve your test scores a bit you’ll be okay. As of your scores right now, I’d consider Mount Holyoke, Bucknell University, or Pitzer College. Those are also high quality liberal arts colleges that are in your SAT range.

Best of luck to you!
