Chances with a average gpa but high sat?

Hi, i'm a junior right now planning to apply to UGA next year. But my gpa right now is a 3.2, a bit lower then their average :( However, i've had a huge upward since freshmen year, going form 3.0s in my first 2 years to a 4.0 my junior year. I also plan to keep a 4.0 for my senior year, which should get me 3.3 by app time. I'm just hoping that the upward trend could somehow help in the admission process xD Other then that, here are my stats:

3.2 UW GPA
7 AP Classes
2300 SAT (I plan to retake and get a 2400)
100+ Community service hours

Any chance at UGA? Thanks guys :D

Since you are above average on rigor and test scores, I think you should try ED and then if you get deferred from that, you should get in with RD when you explain your GPA trend.

3.2 sounds low given what you’ve described. If you had 3.0s for the first two years and 4.0s for the last two, shouldn’t your unweighted GPA be closer to 3.5? (3+3+4+4=3.5)

In any case, your SAT and overall GPA trend should you make competitive. Probably a strong chance for RD.

3.0 for four semesters (two freshman, two sophomore) plus 4.0 for one semester (first junior semester) averages to 3.2

i just got in with a 3.45 and 1970 SAT, so I think you should definitely be fine as long as you continue to take rigorous courses

Thanks so much guys! I feel less hopeless now haha :)

I got in with a low GPA (same as yours probably) yet high SAT(lower than yours), not to mention I also got into honors. Good luck!
