I've heard and read of Colgate's reputation and I think it is something that I would like to be a part of after HS. I'm interested in pre-med and I see Colgate has an acceptance rate of about 70% in recent years. My first time scores are: M 690, CR 610 and WR 620. My GPA is 3.7 (U). I have taken numerous honors classes along with AP Calculus, AP Stats and AP Physics. I am a junior and currently ranked 80/675 in a very competitive HS. I am a member of the Varsity basketball team (very time consuming), Peer Turtoring and the NHS. I am active in my church and community. I will visit Colgate in the Spring and I want to get comments and suggestions from the Forum. Thank you.

If you like Colgate, give it some serous consideration. Your grades and scores would put you at about the middle of the Colgate applicant pool, in my guesstimation. You want to take a tough Senior curriculum of advanced courses and do well in them. Yeah, lots of hard work ahead! The fact that you are “interested” in pre-med is good, but you don’t get admitted because you have interests so much as for what you have done and who you are. You want to do your best in school, stay involved productively in whatever extracurriculars you enjoy, and definitely visit the campus. It’s pretty special, and you may have a good chance of getting in if you do well this year and next in school. Good luck
