chances

I just got into McCombs and do take pride in that it is one of the most competitive schools at UT. I know someone who's a total moron, but is ranked in the top 2.4%. Low math + reading SAT like around 1000 give or take a few points with weak EC'S and they're a bad writer so prob weak essays too. Rigorous courseload, ok rec letters. What are their chances at McCombs? Do they automatically get in too because of their ranking? I know McCombs doesn't necessarily have to accept top 8% but I did hear that top 2% gets automatic admission? I just really don't want to go to school with this person.

I have no idea where McCombs cuts off their auto admits or if they truly even do them, but you can’t tie your wants, needs and dreams on another person. Don’t let this person factor into your decision. UT is too large to let one person out of thousands and thousands to influence your decision.

There are 50k people in UT… chances are you wont see him.

I second what AlexVen says. You can really get around without rarely seeing a certain someone.

And yeah… he will get auto admit. Top 3% is cutoff for McCombs… And like they said. UT is pretty darn big. Unless yall take the same major and still have to do many pre-reqs… your not going to see him.
