As for my lack of russian this year, it's because my school only offers a single AP Class for a pool of over 245 students. Also, my school has restrictions on courseloads, so taking AP Russian would have been impossible due to the 3 APs that I am currently enrolled in.

Thanks again, I'm really looking forward to late March/April when all these letters start coming in!

Guessing you already applied since you are a senior so your chances of admission will be revealed in just a few short months when we release admission decisions.

As for your lack of Russian this year, hopefully you or your counselor explained that to us. On the Secondary School Report, it asks the counselor to identify if students are limited in the number of APs they can take. If your counselor completed that part of the form, we will take note of it and evaluate your course selection accordingly. We do not penalize you for the policies set forth by your school that may inhibit your course selection.

It sounds like you have many of the factors we look for in a student. You’ve taken calculus and bio/chem/physics and your lack of a fourth year of foreign language is explained. Your schedule is full of advanced courses and your GPA implies that your grades are relatively high. You appear to be very involved with some depth and breadth to your activities and you’ve achieved leadership positions. You certainly appear to be someone who is competitive for admission.

Keep in mind that W&M is highly selective, admitting only 27% of the out-of-state students who apply so we have to turn away some very competitive and high-achieving students because our pool is so strong. For more on any applicant’s chances, check out our Admit It! Blog ([W&M Blogs Chance Me](http://blogs.wm.edu/2010/12/14/chance-me/))

thank you very much for the response.
I had one other question though. I still have not received a confirmation from W&M regarding the submission of my Common Application, even though the Common Application sent me a confirmation that I had indeed submitted it. Should i be concerned?

Depends on when you submitted your Common App. If you clicked submit in the days leading up to the deadline, you shouldn’t be concerned. We’re still have yet to download over 3,000 applications that were submitted on or before January 1. If you submitted long before the deadline, you should absolutely contact us by phone (757-221-4223) or by email (admission@wm.edu).

If Common App says it was submitted, it absolutely should be. We can only process so many applications per day and of course, almost everyone submits their application right before or on January 1. You should likely receive your confirmation email this week.
