chances?

hi, so basically i love the Coll. of Wm & Mary...i visited as a sophomore and thought it was beautiful. i'm applying regular decision. i know its probably a reach, but i wanted the opinions of people who maybe know a bit more about it than i do.
here are my stats:
760 cr
600 math
770 writing
classics major
gpa= 3.77 uw, 3.98 weighted
highly competitive, nationally ranked public school in connecticut
white female
EC's: NHS, 2 year job at the Gap along with babysitting, church volunteering, key club, relay for life captain, camp counseling, and other minor stuff

what do you think? do i have any chance?

onebludegoldfish, glad you applied to W&M. Given that we have no minimal requirements, it never hurts any applicants to apply and find out if they’re competitive for admission.

Given we’re already knee-deep in our review process, at this point, it’s best to just wait until April when you’ll know once and for all whether or not you got in. We know that’s nerve-wracking but there’s nothing you can change about your application at this point regardless of how anyone responds to this thread. Additionally, it’s hard to give any feedback without more information about what classes you took and what a 3.98 GPA means at your school (it could be really strong or somewhat weak depending on the school’s grading scale). Additionally, you didn’t really mention any school-related involvements except NHS. Are there others you failed to mention?

Forgot to mention, we wrote a blog about chances threads specifically. This might help give you more info as you await your decision.

thanks W&M admission, i will definitely read the blog post you recommended. its difficult for me to participate in many school sponsored activities, as my job is after school from 3pm til 7:30 (or sometimes later) and the schedule changes each week. as a result, i never know what days i will be working. i do participate in peer tutoring, and the key club is sponsored by my school. i also participated in our genocide assembly last year as a discussion leader. i plan to do so this year as well. good luck as you sort through all of the applications you’ve received!

Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully you provided the same clarification in your application. If you didn’t, you may want to update your file by sending an email to admission@wm.edu so that those who read your application will be able to put your extracurricular activities in the appropriate context.

Thanks W&M Admission, I didn’t do that. I’ll email Admissions right away.

Great. Please include your W&M ID number (provided in our emails to you regarding your application status) in the email.
