I plan on taking the SAT and ACT again, hoping for 700's in everything this time around and a 32 or better on the ACT, since the first time i took it, i took it cold.

Now I plan on applying early decision to Cornell, but I don't think I will make it.

I plan on applying regular decision to Renesselaer, Stony Brook, NYU, Boston University, Drexel, maybe University of Rochester, NYU Poly, University of Chicago,

What are my chances?/Possible better alternatives? I know my GPA isn't the best. I live in New York, I want to go to a New York School because I hope they'll give me better money to go there.

Your GPA seems a little low in comparision to your SAT scores. What is your class rank, type of high school attending, what level coleges do the top 10 in your class typically go to? At face value you are a reach at Cornell & U of Chicago. U of Roch. is a reach to a match. RPI is a match. Drexel is a safety. I’m not as familiar with the other colleges. Syracuse would be a match to safety for you. Clarkson would be a safety.

Your ACT and SAT scores are good, but your gpa is little on the low side for NYU and University of Chicago. Try to really raise your GPA before you apply, and try to get some really good recs, and write a good essay, and you should be all set.

Chance me please: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1212842-chances-i-promise-i-will-chance-back-boston-university-university-washington.html

Yea my GPA is a little on the low side. I also want to know about Penn State, since they are ranked pretty high for what I want to do but I don’t know how difficult it is to get into the School of Engineering there.

People not sure of their own chances are unlikely to be able to evaluate your chances with any accuracy, especially given that people who know what they’re doing still can’t evaluate your chances with much accuracy.

Okay, same stuff applies at top, my new list of schools:

ED:
Cornell (most likely not, its a big reach, just testing my luck)

EA:
Binghampton
Stony Brook

Regular:
Penn State
Renesselaer

And one other school, still deciding

Please chance me for these schools
