<p>Hello, I am a female senior in Alaska applying for several prestigious schools including Yale (Early Action), Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, Swarthmore, Amherst, and Pomona.</p>

<p>I wish to major in some kindof biological sciences </p>

<p>Academics:
Rank- 3/579 GPA- 4.18
ACT- 32 (Math- 34, Reading-33, Science, 32, English- 32, Essay- 8) I took it twice, if all the subjects were added up separately I would have a 33... I do not know how schools analyize the ACT score.
SAT II- Math II- 720, Molecular Biology- 730
AP Scholar with Distinction
AP Classes thus far: AP Calc AB, AP Chem, AP Lang, AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP Statistics, AP Calc BC, AP Physics, AP Lit, AP US Gov, and AP Spanish </p>

<p>I realize my standardized testing scores are considerably low for these specific schools... :(
Also, my school district weighs our GPAs a bit strangely-- every extra class I've had such as student gov (we have it as 0 hour at 6:30 in the mornings) and all my online classes actually work towards lowering my GPA. </p>

4th place PFD in State debate tournament

3rd degree black belt Tae Kwon Do
Co-founderof solar club (make solar paneled suitcases for medical purposes in third world countries)
Organized youth leadership project- implementationof trash cans around various trails
1st chair clarinet- Symphonic band
Various community services: Head Start, hospital, local elementary school, soup kitchen, tutor at math camp, PRE, etc
Various club member (Partner's Club, Science Club) </p>

<p>I would really appreciate any inputs, suggestions, or comments of my chances of actually recieving an acceptance to any of schools listed above. Thank you so much!</p>

<p>Those schools are reaches for anyone, but I say you have a really good chance. You have any safeties though? I mean regardless of your credentials, none of these schools are truly fits let-alone safeties for anyone. I say apply to all of these schools, you have a brilliant chance of getting in, but you need something to fall back on in case you do not get into these fantastic schools. Remember, prestige isn’t everything, and a more difficult university does not necessarily translate to more money in the long run. Good luck!</p>

<p>To be honest, I think your SAT scores and GPA are low for the Ivies. However, you have GREAT extracurriculars and AP course load. I’d say your chances are decent, but not guaranteed. I think you have a good chance at Swarthmore, Amherst, and Pomona.</p>
