I think you're in. Your GPA is above average, and you have strong SAT scores. You've also got a good courseload and ECs that you have mentioned. Have you applied already? If not, you're late, and your chances would decrease slightly.

Their mail can be slow to arrive after admissions decisions (son's came 3 weeks later). Give them a call on Monday. If a decision has been made, they'll tell you over the phone. BTW, I think you'll be admitted w/$$.

I think you will be in. My son's SAT scores were similar to yours, except for math, in which he excels. His gpa was higher, but yours should be fine for IU. (My son was admitted last year.)

the new score will help, im not 100% sure if IUB general admissions takes highest individual scores of all tests or not but for the HHC, they take highest verbal and math from different sittings. I got 1930 and i got in so you should be ok.

I don't think GPA is that important at Indiana - Bloomington, I had 3.0 and had no trouble, as long as you dont fail a class you should be fine. Even if you do have an F prob wont kill your chances either, so 3.4 is a pretty damn high GPA and nothing to worry about.

Guapocarlos, you got in with a 3.0 gpa, but that's not the norm. GPA IS important. If you're an URM, that would explain why you got in with a 3.0. If not, they must have looked at some other factors, but it still isn't accurate to tell people that gpa isn't important at this school.

ya i gota agree wit aimhigh, gpa at any school is typically a significant factor in terms of admissions, shows how much you work and stuff. especially for state schools like IU, gpa and sat scores as well as rank are prety much the stats they use to admit u or not.

my school does not rank, my GPA is a 3.02, my SAT were 1310 which is higher than their average but considering I was rejected from Penn State and accepted to Indiana, I would say that Indiana focuses less on GPA and more on scores than other schools like Penn State.

Im am also not a minority, and there was no essay involved in the application so they looked at the same information Penn State did however decided I was acceptable while Penn State saw my GPA and rejected me.
