I know that these threads are super annoying, and I apologize, but I am planning on applying ED this fall to CMC and want to know if anyone even thinks I have a shot. I go to a very rigorous public high school (top 100 in the US) that is known for serious grade deflation. I have around a 3.5UW/3.8W GPA. I have taken advanced classes over the past four years (Honors: English 9, History 9, Geometry, English 10, Algebra 2, & Physics; AP: World History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, US History, English Language, Spanish, English Literature, AB Calc, and US & Comparative Gov). I plan on majoring in Political Science or International Relations (or both!).

My ACT superscored is a 32 (E 35, R 34, M 30, S 29)
I am not submitting my SAT scores but I got a 2030 (CR 650, W 690, M 690).
I am also not submitting my SAT IIs because when I visited CMC they said they do not care about SAT IIs whatsoever.

I know that my numbers are well below where they should be for the average CMC student; however, I am hopeful that the fact that my personality is a strong match for the school will tip over the scale, especially if I apply ED. I am a strong believer in practical application of learning, and have developed strong leadership abilities through my extra curricular activities:

Model UN (10-12): VP of club (12) that is nationally ranked. this is my BABY. I spend roughly 8 hours a week on this.

Relay For Life (11-12): Sponsorship Chairman (11) and Logistics Chairman (12). I work with fellow committee members to organize the fundraiser. Last year we raised over $100,000 for the American Cancer Society

Cello (4-12): Another activity near and dear to my heart. My high school orchestra has performed throughout the world, and this year will be performing at Carnegie Hall in NYC. I tutor a few students as a source of income for a few hours a week. I also go to local middle schools and mentor young cellists. I have won the Freshman Orchestra Leadership Award (9), and the Outstanding Musicianship Award (11,12).

UNICEF (9-12): Currently I serve as Treasurer (12) of this club. Continuing with my love of IR stuff, I help raise money for the children (literally).

Young Democrats Club (10-12): Secretary (12). We work on local campaigns and hold debates with other political groups at my high school.

A lot of these activities I started sophomore year, which is because I did track freshman year, eliminating most opportunities to participate in clubs.

Summer Activities:
Georgetown U Leadership Institute (10)
University of Virginia SEP (10)
Georgetown U Summer College - took intro classes in Business and Law (11)
Intern for a Congressman in the US House of Representatives (12)

My essays will be top notch (writing is one of my strong suits), and my two recommendation letters will be FANTASTIC. Let me know your candid thoughts!
