Chances

Hello, I had some questions regarding admission to Mizzou and I am hoping that someone here could help me out.

I am an OOS applicant and recently submitted an application for Arts and Sciences Undecided. I have a pretty decent SAT score with a 1870 (630 Reading, 510 Math, 690 Writing) but my GPA is not very good and does not meet the direct admittance requirements stated on the website. I am guessing that because of my subpar GPA I will not have a chance to be automatically admitted. However, I am hoping to get accepted with my multiple AP Classes and good SAT score despite my low GPA for Mizzou. Although, my mid year report from my first semester of senior year shows improvement academically and a higher GPA.

I was wondering if I still have a good shot at being accepted. Mizzou is a prestigious public university with many great schools so I will be excited if I get accepted.

I don’t know your chances, since the majority of students seem to be automatic admits, but I would imagine that they might want to know why you have a lower GPA…with your SAT, you need a 2.8 GPA. They would probably want to know why an AP student with a relatively high SAT score has a GPA below that. If there’s a circumstance that has cause your GPA to be lower (close death in the family, health issues, etc.) then I would guess you’d have slightly better chances than if you were just being lazy.
