Bring up that SAT score (like 50+ points), write a compelling essay, apply early decision. Minority status does help. It's great that you're taking the hardest courseload, they will notice that. What's your class rank?

our school doesnt do class rank but I am in the scholars program at my school so that basically means top 10%

The only thing I'm concerned about is your SAT. It needs to be higher to be more competitive. I think a great essay coupled with early decision could give you a good shot, but regular decision is a crapshot. Also, you have tons of ECs but not all of them are meaningful. Is there anything you've really really focused on in high school and maybe could write about? Do any of your teachers LOVE you dearly? Good recs are paramount. What kind of a runner are you? A coach's nod (because they have spots every year) plus those stats would get you in.

Do not forget to study your butt off for those SAT IIs. They are just as important as SAT Is.

Also, what are you planning on majoring in? Admission rate is higher for SEAS than CC. There are not many African American men (or women...women, period) at Columbia in SEAS, I'm sure they'd like to see more.
