Chances

boss, you're right. It will be a very long summer.

I wonder if we have another ADA or armyfreak among us.

The cadre will not have a chane to eat him alive, he wont make it with that attitude.

"Yea, why would I want to seek approval from a "dad" of a cadet."

I don't understand. Are you wanting help with some questions you have or what? That comment was crass & childish. No one here is in admissions and you should be glad they're not cause I'm not sure what they'd think of your attitude. And just a little warning because I don't think you've thought on this. Be as polite as you can here due to the fact that IF you get into AFA, you're leaving your cadre for next year with eagle eyes for you. Trust me. They'll figure out who you are. Its easy.

If you are wanting sound advice from some cadets or the parents here, why not come across as a little nicer? You'll get some good advice here and the knowledge is power. Being humble about your leadership potential would be a start. It is potential at this point. The thing is, all academy kids have great stats like yours. If you are the golden boy of your highschool now, you may want to check it right here because you won't be IF you get into the academy. Some make it in, some don't, even with the best stats. Just cool the jets alittle is all. Most of these guys want to help kids just like you. No need to burn your bridges before you even get there. And let me repeat. You just never know who your actually talking to on a forum. If you think you're invisable, mebbe, mebbe not. I'll explain further if you don't figure it out within the next 10 seconds since your so stats are so good.

I have seen many of this Futurepilot guy post. I think he is just posting to cause trouble. I think we are only encoraging him by replying to his post. He has been warned many times and he keeps making ridiculous post. he should just be ignored

I wonder if Future pilot is related to "confused 23". How many more days until school is back in session?

This is getting real old! It's time to ignore FutureUSAFA's postings.

I've got a new box of chocolates and a bottle of merlot. Join me.

SWEET! I'll be right there momof3! It very well could be Confused with a mask on. LOL

Jamzmom, your missing out on the fun! Futurepilot just got BUSTED on the newest AFA thread titled "Hook? Help Chances?"

It appears that Futurpilot had his feeling hurt.

He hasn't posted since he got his hand slapped! :D

At this point, dont even apply FutureUSAFPilot. If I talked the way you talk, I never would have gotten in. My numbers were way lower than yours. But I knew what I wanted to become, where I wanted to go, and had determination to get there.

If you want to come to USAFA (which I highly recommend a change of attitude before hand) then apply. Give it your all.

When I applied, the first letter that I received back from USAFA said my overall composite number (they take all you have and rank them against others) was too low. They could not consider me as an applicant. I continued to update my file at USAFA Admissions with everything I had. I copied every single award and such that I had and mailed this pack to them. I came to know who my area rep was for admissions, she knew my first name. The area rep is the one who puts together your packet and takes it to the board. I called her at least once a week.
I also applied to both WestPoint and Annapolis. I wanted to be a military officer above anything else. Pilot? Sure that would be great, but you will be an officer above anything else. I eventually received an early appointment from WestPoint, which I told USAFA about. The next week, because I showed determination, I received an early appointment from USAFA. Which I promptly signed and sent back.

Moral of the story. Know what you want, be determined, and lay it all on the line. If you dont get in after that, then you werent meant to get in that year.

Remember, you come to become not a pilot or an engineering, but the best officer the United States can produce. If you didnt want that, then you would go to a civilian college and do ROTC.

Stop seeking approval and talking about it and do it!
