don't really have a good idea where i wanna go (thus the post) but i guess ivies and schools of that calibur

Okay, a few things you need to know.

First, the Ivies go by rank, not GPA or 93/100 possible scores. So we need your rank to give you a really good estimate of chances.

Second, the Ivies are really different from each other. Take Columbia and Cornell for example. Columbia is in the heart of NYC, and Cornell is in a farmland area. Columbia is focused on humanities, engineering, politics, law, and medicine. Cornell is focused on agriculture, business, architecture, and the sciences.

It's important that you decide where YOU want to go. Give us a clue about your interests and that will help. Otherwise, we'll just send you where we prefer--but you might be very unhappy there later on.

Third, same comments as above apply to a major. If we know you are interested in architecture, for example, we can suggest Cornell. But if we suggest Univ of Chicago, for example, and it turns out that you want to major in engineering, you might be a bit unhappy when you get there and find out that Chicago has no engineering school at the undergraduate level.

Lastly, go read the thread in this section entitled "Stop asking for Ivies". It was posted about two weeks ago. This will explain why no one responded to your thread so far.

P.S. Great test scores--congratulations.

A 93 is around a 3.8, but my school presents its gpa on a 100 point scale and doesn't rank (other than naming valedictorian and salutatorian after first semester senior year), so i'm just presenting what colleges will see.

The problem for me in choosing schools is that I have a real interest in both sciences and humanities, so a good way to resolve them would be nice (economics springs to mind, but I don't know that much about it). In the ivies I would mostly be looking at Yale (my brother went there if that means anything), and Columbia. I'm also interested in Northwestern, UChicago?, and perhaps some of the smaller liberal arts schools like Amherst, though I'm a little concerned about the seclusion at such schools.
