NSLC summer program, ARML Mathletes finalist...
Thw winter percussion group has played annually since 2004 at the State theater with a professional music group by their request. so that could count for something..

i could put my grades by year if you think i should but..
wat are my chances at
Stanford
Columbia Fu
Princeton
Rutgers-New Brunswick
JHU
U Cal Berkeley
Cooper Union
Maryland-College Park

o yea..im also appx top 10% in class of 426 and am looking to do Chemical Engineering..thanks

Take the SAT again and try and bring up that CR score. Many colleges superscore (take aggregate scores) on the SAT, so you could keep your good Math score and try for your best possible combination. In your app, try and emphasize your passion for theater. Anyways, as you stand now (unless you are a URM, connected, or a legacy at any of the schools) :

Stanford-- no chance
Columbia Fu-- no chance
Princeton-- no chance
Rutgers-New Brunswick-- match
JHU-- big reach
U Cal Berkeley-- reach
Cooper Union-- reach
Maryland-College Park-- match

Don't know state residency so its hard to gauge the chances at MD and Rutgers but that should be close.

well im from new jersey, and wat u said gchris is wat i "feared" but thanks for ure opinion anyway..anybody else?

brownman5:

UCB: Reach (out of state)

gchris is correct.

wat would i need to have any chance at columbia or stanford, if not princeton

or wat schools outside that list wud i have a shot at for ChemE

gchris is definitley right-you have some of the hardest schools to get into (Stanford, Columbia, Princeton) and then you have two big state schools (Maryland and Rutgers). Why dont you look for schools that have similarities and find a type of school you want to go to.

Rutgers is a safety as long as you're in top 10% and in NJ.

Berkeley especially in Chemical Engineering...their number 1 program...is a HUGE reach. They only accept 4% out of state.

Columbia Fu...you might have a chance here...their engineering program isn't too great. I hear from my friend all the time that Columbia engineering is much easier than Columbia College.

how guarunteed would i be in terms of free tuition for cooper union if i got in?
