Chances

Can anyone chance me here for Dartmouth? This is a reach/dream school for me!

First Generation, low-income
Asian Male, California

SAT: 2100 (650 M, 740 CR, 710 W)
GPA: 4.3 weighted, 3.89 unweighted
Rank: 6/412
SAT II: 730 US history, 700 Math II
Course Load: Took all AP courses that my school's schedule allows
Senior course: all AP and honors except 1 class

ECs: pretty weak.
Student leader in church youth group
Black belt and student instructor in martial arts
officer in two school clubs
Piano certificate of merit advanced/senior award
Congressional Page in House of Representatives

Teacher and counselor recs: Good, I hope!
Peer evaluation: i had a really good friend, who writes for her city's newspaper write mine.
Essays: good

I really dont' think I have a shot, but still chance me!

You have a shot but its not great just because there is literally one/two hundred other people applying with the exact same stats and ECs as you lol so recs, application essays, and peer eval are very important. Good Luck.

NEW SAT scores:

740 V, 630 M, and 740 W----->2110 :(

Those scores I put in the original post were just estimates. :(

Still doesn't increase my chances by any, but whatever.

Unfortunately, being Asian will definitely hurt your chances. But, you do have some good ECs. If I were you, I'd find a way to make those stand out. Good luck!

Good ECs? lol I always thought that my ECs were weak. I DID write about working in the House of REps though on my common app essay, or actually taking the risk of leaving home for WAshington to work in Congress.

Low reach.

I think everyone is overlooking that low income and first generation. That might help you compensate for your weak ECs. Otherwise I would say your chances are shady at best.

I would take shady to mean not good?

Nice shot, considering first generation and low-income other wise i agree with above you're chances would be shady at best. You're ECs are decent and you should study that Math. There is no reason a bright kid like you can't get 700 with a little study. Because its really, really hard for an Asian to get in with 1390, regardless of situation.

How about if I have the same stats as OP but my SAT is 2220 (800 CR, 680 M, 740 W) and my rank is 3 and my SAT II's are 770 USH and 750 Math ii and I go to the same school as the OP and in fact we are twins. Do you think I have a better shot?

Well... they're better. But remeber chances are just that chances. No one can say for sure especially with the illustrious ivy league.
