I am a freshman at Northwestern, i have never applied here before, but I have become interested in Dartmouth, so i want to know if anyone knows what my chances are as a transfer

3.93 at Northwestern

top 2-3 percent, top public high school, all aps/honors, graduated w. more than 10 ap courses

SAT: 690 V, 780 M

SAT II: 3 scores, above 700

do i have a shot?

no on has any opinions...i thought dartmouth was a friendly place for transfers??

Foryourenjoyment, I'm not too familiar with transfer admissions procedures, so you might have better luck in the Transfer thread. But for sure, you definitely have a shot... at the very least nothing rules you OUT from transfer admission to Dartmouth (the verbal SAT is a little on the low side, but still reasonable). I'd imagine that a large part of the application will be focused on WHY DARTMOUTH and WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED THIS PAST YEAR IN COLLEGE so I would target those. Also, you haven't mentioned any extracurriculars, but as always, having substantial EC's are important as well.

Just wondering- what made you interested in Dartmouth? And where else did you get in senior year of high school?

i got into cornell, u of chicago, emory, and some others

well, the only reason why i doubt my verbal is a problem is b/c u of chicago has a higher SAT verbal average than does dartmouth, and i got in, so i doubt my verbal would be a problem for dartmouth as a transfer

that may true in a RD high schoo student round but as a ttransfer admissions are ten times harder
