Chances?

Ok, I applied early action (EA) and got deferred. Notre Dame is the only university I want to go to next fall. These are my stats:

SAT: 1280 (of 1600) and 1950 (of 2400)
GPA: 4.0 (unweighted) 4.4 (weighted)
AP Classes Taken: 13
Grades: Straight A's all four years
Rank: 4/248
Legacy: Yes (dad and grandpa)
Community Service: Head Camp Counselor, Science Teacher, Library Volunteer, Assistant at a Mentally Handicapped Facility, Parish Altar Server, Parish Fiesta Administrator, etc. (220+ hours)
Extracirriculars: Varsity Tennis (tennis all four years), Student Council (Soph. Vice Pres., Junior Commissioner, ASB Vice Pres.), Head Counselor at local Summer Camp (work experience), President of Ping Pong Club, President of National Honors Society and the California Scholarship Federation, etc.

Midyear GPA: 4.857 (6 AP Classes + Religion)

I wrote a personal letter to the Admissions Office explaining why I want to attend Notre Dame after getting deferred. I'm also sending them my semester grades (the mid-year report) next week. What are my chances for acceptance?

I think that everything looks good but the scores - did you retake the SAT, or try the ACT? I know that my ACT was much better, it varies from person to person - I think you should take at least one of them, that will definitely show them your willingness to improve.

Yeah, my test scores aren't outstanding. I tried the ACT but I only got a 25. Standardized tests have never been a good thing for me. I don't really want to take the SAT again because I'm just going to get around the same score that I always get. I don't know. Hopefully all things work out.
