<p>Sophmore Summer: Volunteered at John Hopkins School of Medicine Division of Nephrology. Did basic cell culture stuff and extracted DNA from mice and then purified it. </p>

<p>This summer: National Institute of Health Intern. Working in NIA LCI. I am creating fusion proteins and then preparing them to be injected into rats for in vivo studies of calcium channels in VSMCs. </p>

if the essay screwed you over, then you don't have an 800 in writing...</p>

<p>cornell and hopkins are never safeties though. make sure theres something that you will DEFINITELY get into, cuz you never know with the ivies and MIT.</p>

<p>but you've obviously got a fantastic chance with what is practically (or is) a perfect SAT score. there's not really reason to ask. it's hard to judge extracurriculars.</p>
