What were your unweighted grades in your core academic classes (math, science, social studies, English and foreign language)? It is difficult to compare GPAs from one high school to another. In addition, schools often compute GPAs based on all graded courses, including those outside the academic cores such as Band and Studio Art. Some states even include phys ed in the GPA reported on a student's transcript. Most colleges discount these courses when they re-compute your GPA. Also, what is your class rank? If your school doesn't rank are you in the top 10%? Top 20%?

I think you need to provide more detail about which courses you have taken and your grade in each before a reasonable guess can be made about your chances.

Your ECs are fine and your SATS are near the top of the middle 50th percentile of accepted students. Are you planning to take any other SAT IIs? The SAT IIs are not required for admission but are taken in consideration for placement and scholarships. Also, if you hope to receive a merit scholarship you might want to take the SAT I again and try to bring the CR score up to 700+.

yeaa im taking the SATs again in Oct with hopes of improving the CR......im in mostly all honors classes with about 2 APs so far and a few Syracuse courses.....idk what my unweighted GPA is so ill have to investigatee

Based on what you've given, I'd say you're in the ballpark. Not a guarantee by any means, but not a ridiculous long-shot either. It would help to know how "weighted" the 3.8 is. Does your school add a point for honors, or a half-point? Or more specifically, if you're getting about B+'s in your honors classes and A's in any non-honors classes, and you're in the top 20% of your class, you are probably within the parameters of many Lafayette students. Your EC's look good, and your SATs are in the range.

What do you want to major in?
