essay: (yes i did procrastinate a LOT)
is about a writing contest i got 2nd place on when i was in 6th grade. it starts off as a misconception about essays, delves into me in the process on writing the essay. goes into the psychological aspect, deep into my mind, and how i wrote it, analyzing every curve, (yes i also write in cursive) anyways....then it goes into me winning 2nd place, and the intense imagery of walking up to the stage.....how the people mocked my seriousness into the competition....essays importance to me...epiphany --> realizing the essay depicted my interest in biology...and ends off with the essay re-creating me....
my chances???
i think bout 15%

(1) the SAT score will hurt you; take it again and see if you can get higher

(2) Harvard doesn't care about your weighted GPA (besides for course rigor); what is your unweighted GPA?

making yourself stick above everyone else is going to be the biggest problem; you have potential, but it's all going to depend on if the adcoms think you're unique enough for harvard (which you could be... but that's up to the adcoms to decide)

oh nvm...that is my unweighted GPA....my school considers an A+ in an AP class the same as in honors class...kinda weird
thanks for the input

why doesnt harvard care about weighted?

yeah...same q here...i mean AP classes r harder than honors (in most cases)

still looking for a clincher in the essay....

they don't care about your weighted GPA for your GPA... i mean they want you to take harder classes (which would technically make your GPA higher), but they look at your unweighted GPA for your GPA

say someone's weighted GPA is a 4.8 and their unweighted was a 3.8

they'll look at the 3.8 for your GPA, and they'll see you're taking hard classes b/c of the 4.8 weight you have

i misspoke before, i guess.. they do care about weighted GPA, but only for course rigor.. unweighted GPA is based on the a = 4, b = 3, c = 2, and d = 1 scale
