...anyone?

Harvard EA: Very Close.
Dartmouth: In
Georgetown: In
JHU: In
MIT: Very Close.
Northwestern: In
Princeton: Very Close.
UMCP: In
Yale: Very Close.

Thanks btbvector...although I will remain pessimistic. :)

No... your ECs are nothing but gold, not to mention that you come from a small private school.

You will get into at least one of HPM, the physics three. (No cornell/caltech/uchicago)?

You can never know for sure, but it would be pretty hard to look any better then you on paper...:-)

essays, interview, and recommendation...

everything looks awesome. i'm sure you will get into at least one of HYPM

So we hope. :) I actually have an uncle who is a professor/director of a particular program at Harvard and another who is an interviewer...both have written recommendations. I'm wondering...will these help or hurt me? Sure, it shows that I have connections to the college, but I would imagine that the admissions committee doesn't want to be 'bullied' into a decision...I don't know. Maybe I'm being way too paranoid about this whole process.

Thoughts, anyone?

Doesn't matter. Your stats are unbeatable - (unless there is someone with 4000 in SAT and same ECs as you have)

I'm also wondering (since you mentioned University of Chicago, CalTech, and Cornell) if there was any school on my list that you guys thought should be replaced with another. Just curious.

I mean, if you want to do Theoretical Physics / Mathematics, the answer is quite simple: Caltech, MIT, Princeton, Harvard, Cornell, Chicago, and maybe Yale, Swarthmore, or Stanford. You should be looking at this level of schools.

um... chicago and yale are not big on science and math =</p>

Umm...Chicago has one of the best math and physics programs.

hm... well I'm applying there during the regular decision round and from what I hear from them they focus largely on the humanities and kind of cognitive learning vs any specialization of fields.

UChicago has one of the best math and theoretical physics programs in the world. Seriously consider it

maybe i'm getting them confused with somewhere else... i've been looking at too many colleges -sigh-

So...what do you guys think about the extra recommendations?

I'm handing in two extra recs. My strength is not as much in academics as it is in my PERSON... lol. so um I'm sending an extra essay and two extra recommendations and scheduling interviews for every school ;)
