<p>So we hope. :) I actually have an uncle who is a professor/director of a particular program at Harvard and another who is an interviewer...both have written recommendations. I'm wondering...will these help or hurt me? Sure, it shows that I have connections to the college, but I would imagine that the admissions committee doesn't want to be 'bullied' into a decision...I don't know. Maybe I'm being way too paranoid about this whole process.</p>

<p>I'm also wondering (since you mentioned University of Chicago, CalTech, and Cornell) if there was any school on my list that you guys thought should be replaced with another. Just curious.</p>
<p>I mean, if you want to do Theoretical Physics / Mathematics, the answer is quite simple: Caltech, MIT, Princeton, Harvard, Cornell, Chicago, and maybe Yale, Swarthmore, or Stanford. You should be looking at this level of schools.</p>

<p>hm... well I'm applying there during the regular decision round and from what I hear from them they focus largely on the humanities and kind of cognitive learning vs any specialization of fields.</p>

<p>I'm handing in two extra recs. My strength is not as much in academics as it is in my PERSON... lol. so um I'm sending an extra essay and two extra recommendations and scheduling interviews for every school ;)</p>
