First of all, props to having a name that is a reference to one of Chicago’s 2 or 3 best songs.

Your scores are fine, but it’s hard to say more without more info. How does the number of APs you’ve taken compare to the number you could have taken/your peers have taken?

How involved are you in the ECs you list? What I assume are your top 3 (Academic Team, Model UN, and NHS) are the sort that seem to vary a lot in expected dedication and time commitment between schools, so it’s hard to gauge without knowing more detail about your involvement. Specifically, any leadership positions? How much time/week do you typically spend on these?

There are probably like 2 or 3 kids that are taking more APs total and probably like 20 taking 5 as well. I could have taken a max of 6 but, like I said, only 2 to 3 people per year do that.
Academic Team, tutoring and volunteering are probably my 3 biggest EC’s. A-Team is like 6 hours per week, 16 weeks per year. Tutoring is like every school week for 2 hours and volunteering is 150 hours total, as stated. Not the best I know.
Does this help you gauge my chances better? Thanks.

You have the GRADES…You have the SCORES…You have the ECS and COMMUNITY SERVICE…BUT DO YOU FEEL LUCKY???
Seriously, you SHOULD be able to get in…I’d find a compelling reason for them to accept you, plus try to connect with someone personally who might have a say.Good luck! My S with grades a little better, SATs a little better, and ECs about the same plus track and XC was wait-listed last year.

thanks. anyone else?

You look strong overall. Your weakest point is probably lack of leadership/depth in your EC’s. Your spread is fine, but you don’t give the impression (to me at least) that you have one or two things that you are really invested in. If my impression is wrong, you should tailor your application to demonstrate this to the admissions office. Use the extra section on the common app to give a greatest hits of your accomplishments/leadership/etc. in your ECs.

thanks cat fish.
