Chane Me?

Alrighty. I feel kinda guilty putting this on and junking it up, but it seems like that's what everyone is doing. Info:

Projected GPA: 3.74 (Including fall grades)
Major: Political Science
EC's: Speech and Debate Team, Academic Senator, Internship with CA Assemblyman, Volunteer at Human Options (shelter for abused women/children), various jobs and other minor awards and such.

UCLA is pretty much a guarantee because I'm an honors student and my CC has an agreement with them, but how does Berkeley look?

Edit: HA! chance me. That's funny.

Edit: Does our academic workload factor in? I took 16 units over the summer session and am taking 30 currently, including 3 honors courses. Does a rigorous course load up my transfer chances?

i hope you get rejected

A guarantee at UCLA? A little overconfident much?

overconfident much? Do you not pay attention? My CC has an agreement with them.

^no they don't. lol An agreement for priority consideration sure, but definitely no guarantee. I can assure you that.

Damn dude, 30 units? Thats a crazy workload. You must eat, sleep and breathe school. If you can pull that off you deserve to get in anywhere, IMO.

UCLA = TAP where the P means priority.
other UCs = TAG where the G means guarantee
Berkeley = TAP where the P means Project

...go figure.

And you have a good shot at all the UCs -- I don't think that PolySci is that impacted. And 30 units? What's that, 7-8 classes? Why are you taking so many? With such an exaggerated courseload, it may look like your ECs are just composing a laundry list. Let's be honest, if you're taking 30 units, a significant portion of your day is likely to consist of merely sitting in lecture.

my school claims 85-95% acceptance rate to tap applicants so I think you are "pretty much a guarantee" at UCLA if it's not too impacted of a major.

lololol TrEbOr uR sO fUnNy lOl yOu HaVe sMaLl aSiAn ***** tO gO wItH yOuR gAy aSiAn WrItInG?!?! LoLzLolZ

You're pretty clueless aren't yah? TAP is NO guarantee. It simply means your app will be put at the top of the pile. That's all.

agree... for a cocky guy like that i hope he can have a taste of rejection
mayB u should read posts from april and see how many TAP got rejected in this forum with ur GPA or higher

I would say good luck but that's nonexistent here.

Pretty much as long as you get all you prerequisites completed for Poli Sci and you complete TAP and keep that GPA it would be very unlikely that you would get rejected from UCLA. Berkeley can go either way I would say 50/50 but your ECs will give you an advantage in the admissions process. And the UCs can really careless how rigorous your course load is so I would cut back and just try to do better in a few classes than just take a bunch and risking chances of getting Bs. Are you taking 30 units for a reason or are you just an egomaniac?

Wrong forum.

Well, it's technically not a guarantee, but NO student at my school who was a part of the priority program has not gotten in in the past three years. I think we're like 80 out of 80. I'd be the first. So, yeah, it's not a guarantee, but it's pretty much a given.

I'm not going to judge you for counting your chickens before they hatch. I do want to add though that if you can successfully handle 30 units at CC, you will probably do well if you attend Cal.

Good luck.

what CC do you attend.

I want to know what CC has 100 % admittance rate for TAP. Then I can direct the majority of California students to that CC for their TAP signing.

Don't get cocky and then get defensive when people in the know point out your cockyness and your mistake of assuming that TAP gives you a guarantee. It is thinking like that that had many kids ending up at UCSD and UCSB last year.... also UCR and UCM

if i was not mistaken i remembered that santamonica and mtsac has the highest acceptance rate for tap students, but they were by no means 100%
i guess the statistics were wrong and ur information about 80/80 was right
omfgbbqh4x

how are you taking 30 semester units ? That's just bs. 12 is considered full-time already, there couldn't possibly be enough time slots for you to fit in 30 units, of course there are, but you know what I'm saying.

lol in the event I ever ask another question I'll have to be sure to be 'extremely humble' because that apparently makes a difference. I don't know what the stats are for other schools, but I know that every single Honors student got into UCLA. Not every single one WENT, but every single one got in.
