Change EA to Regular?

If I already had an interview, can I still change my mind from applying EA to RD?

not having had an interview myself (and thus not knowing), I'd say your biggest problem would be the teacher recommendations, which should have marked on them which deadline you'r eapplying for. And if you haven't asked for those yet, then you're screwed for Nov. 1st (sorry, that sounds harsh)

Oh I've already asked for them. Everything's all set except for my essays, I think I need more time to put a good one together

Oh man, I can't do short essay 2. It's gonna sound so stupid.

So does my long essay. I've got this first person narration about how nervous I am about inviting God to brunch, along with some past political figures (I've only gotten God and Henry the Eighth so far)

Hey I'm doing the same prompt! =) Eating with God and Henry the Eigth must result in a lavish buffet or something!

Why would you change from EA to regular unless you are trying for ED or EASC elsewhere? EA, if it is where you want to go, can only help you really (you can still apply to other schools and even EA to quite a few!).

I DO really want to go to UChicago, but I don't think I can finish the essay on time.

I see... fair enough, but you SHOULD have enough time.

Yes, you can. I originally planned to apply EA (checked it on the app), had an early interview, etc. I ended up applying RD because I was trying to finish up my UNC/Morehead app and didn't do my Chicago essays in time (which I ended up writing in one day anyway). Don't rush your application if it's not ready, but I agree with davan...a week is a lot of time.

If you want a good shot, visit school and schedule an interview.
