Change in Major.

I got accepted into Gatech and CMU but unfortunately I didn't get any scholarship from CMU. I want to major in engineering, mainly in Aerospace.
So I have like 3 questions:-
1)Would u choose Gatech over CMU if u have got no scholarship and ur OOS.
2)I have no idea why I kept Computer Engineering on my application but I was accepted into Gatech having a Computer Engineering.
Is a major change in Gatech Possible(Computer ----> aerospace) and can I do a dual major (or) atleast a major & a minor possibly(aerospace and mechanical)
3)Is really aerospace worth taking --> I mean will I be able to get a job right after graduating and will I have diff. kinds of oppertunity.

Thanks for u help guyz.

The only question I can help you with is number 2 (I’m not aerospace, I’m CS)… it is pretty easy to change majors at GT, especially if you change it before you get there.

"25. How can I change my major?

After you’re in school, you would have to fill out some forms and get them signed by your adviser, but that’s pretty easy too.

Thank you very much that was one of the most troublesome problem I had.
any other???

Ok, I’ll start backwards:

AE is not a very flexible major, and isn’t the most in-demand degree in the world. In fact, a few years back the city of LA sponsored a reeducation program to convert AE’s to CE’s because of the overabundance of AE’s and the need for CE’s. But it’s not all doom-and-gloom. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics sees growth:

Georgia Tech is ranked higher than CMU in overall engineering (GT 4, CMU 7) and in AE (GT 4, CMU >10). They’re in the same echelon of rankings, so I wouldn’t say that you should go to Tech regardless of money (at that point, it becomes personal preference), but similarly there’s no reason to automatically pick CMU, especially if it costs more.

Especially in AE, you’re doing yourself a favor by going to Tech. It’s one of the best programs in the world.

thank you but is really aerospace wroth taking or am I spoiling my future I already have a fairly good knowledge in CS(know a bunch of languages) but really have interest in aerospace but I dont even have surface knowledge in it

bump…

Whether or not AE is right for you is a personal decision. You can see the BLS outlook for AE above, for CS:
