Change in Senior Year, Spring Semester Elective

DS23 started the spring semester of his senior year today. He is considering changing an elective course for a different elective course (the course he originally registered for has a different focus than he expected). He realizes that he will need to notify colleges of the change. A few questions: (1) I assume swapping one elective for another will not cause any issues with admissions offices (neither course checks an application requirement box) – any reason to expect otherwise? (2) Is an email to the admissions office generally sufficient to advise of such a change? Thanks for any insights.
