change in son's status page RDII

Question:

Was going to the admissions area to find a phone number. Wanted to call and ask if we needed to send midterm grades for RDII. Having never been through this before, we weren't sure. Anyway, happened to check his status page ... I know, silly ... but ... I noted that they'd already asked for his midterm transcripts, which were received on the 19th. We did not ask for those midterms to be sent, so, is that good? Or is that just normal ...

DS High School just automatically sends out mid-year reports to all the schools the students applied to, unless the student specifically tells them it is not necessary.
I don't know about University of Florida in particular.

Ah, was wondering because at my S's high school you had to request for transcripts to be sent. It wasn't automatic.

Zebes

i never heard of UF requesting midterm transcripts...all i know is that all accepted students need to send in final transcripts at the end of the year.

you can call their welcome center and ask questions. 352-392-1365

A lot of in-state high schools will automatically send transcripts to in-state universities as needed.

they are not allowed to do that....they cannot send stuff to collleges on behalf of a student without that student's permission. thats not possible. and just to prove it, why do u think they tell STUDENTS to have their transcripts send off instead of just calling the students' high school to speak with the counselor in request for a transcript. high schools are not allowed to send any documentation off to anyone without permission from the student.

FloridaBoy2007 is right.

Really? Because there's a school here in florida that I applied to but never got another to sending in the transcripts for. I logged on to the oasis thing online to check my status and it said that they recieved my transcripts, I don't get how because I never called my high school and ask them to send it to them, Because after a few days of applying I decided I didn't even want to think about applying because I heard from alot of people that it really sucks and alot of my classmates ended up tranfering out before the end of there freshmen year. Besides there's two campuses and one of the campuses is less then 15 minutes from my house and thats wayy to close to home.

I dont think its completely true, If the school is in state and depending on the school they can just request them for your school themselves, you obviously applied. I remember my last semester in high school going up to the sec. and asking her if she got any request for transcripts from UF and she said no but she sent them anyway. I think usf did it because their so close so I think in state schools do it depending on the university though cause UF doesnt.

well at my school a student has to pay 2 dollars to send a transcript off, so i am very sure that they arent gonna just decide to send ppl's transcripts off and charge 2 dollars to that student's account seeing the student never told them to do that. schools are not gonna pay mailing fee themselves to send off something that the student never even asked to be sent

well it depends because the same thing that happenend to bbecker happenend to me, i didn't send my transcript to USF yet i got admitted....and while my high school charges for sending transcripts it doesn't charge for state schools

they generally don't send it without previous permission. of course, it may be an established fact with your school.

for example, experienced college counselors KNOW they have to send a final transcript to the school your picked to. it would be silly to ask you when you have no choice. but to send an optional one without permission is a little far stretched for 'em

they may electronicall sent it for free if it's instate
