Man you were rejected so hard they purged you from the system…

J/k - did you enter your UCLA ID when you created an URSA (UCLA Logon) account?

morethansunshine, spooned , & anyone else curious about the verification notice on their F/A… most UC’s including UCLA select a certain amount of new students to do a verification process to prove your income level for F/A. It is usually students who are considered independent students but sometimes they will do a verification process for dependent students. They only request verification for students who were admitted because tax returns are confidential & they can’t hold those forms for no reason. Berkeley has the same process, that’s why I knew early that I got in and the following year my husband got the verification letter early as well so we knew he was accepted. In addition, all of my friends (some at UCLA & Cal) also all who received those verification notices were accepted. So I am 99.9999% sure that if you got that verification request that you got accepted. congrats btw… =)

how do you know if you’ve been selected for the verfication process…

So if you see it does it mean for sure youre accepted? Has anyone from previous threads gotten rejected after being able to see their FA report?

weezy…if they ask for certain forms like tax returns, than you have been selected for the verification process… morethansunshine and few others had the verification prompt on their UCLA F/A screen so that’s why i wanted to mention this

for those of you who can see ur FA summaries…are there still three columns when you login??

still 3 columns

OH my GOD… thank you luvtoolearn… but i don’t want to jinx it… i will wait for the official letter :)

so does this mean I got in? even though it says incomplete?? im kinda confused…

“I think the information on URSA is misleading because financial aid is processed separately from admissions and you may receive information even if you are not accepted.”-Ms Sun

im too scared to check mine lol

should i? should i not? damn it, i kinda wanna be surprised … IN A GOOD WAY though

beardy…once admissions have made their decisions, they forward it to the F/A department so that they can process the awards…usually in batches because they have to process thousands o packages before a certain time frame. It has to be done quickly because some people base where they chose to submit their SIR on the F/A package. I know as a fact from working in a F/A department at a college that they get the admission information prior to the official release of decisions. Since they usually do it in batches, i wouldn’t worry too much if you can’t see the summary.

luvtoolearn… thank you that is reassuring.

my chances don’t seem to great though. i have a 3.8 in a competitive major without tap.

■■■

luvtoolearn, for those who are definitely rejected, admissions doesn’t tell financial aid and the student doesn’t get any financial aid awards right?

my consensus to all this is that if you can see your financial aid summaries its a good sign and for those who cant see it should not panic yet because everything is on a rolling basis. am I correct?

Where are you guys checking? myfao or financial award summary? because in my fao it says no request and in my financial aid summary it says incomplete but it lists all the other stuff like student contribution and parent contribution and living on campus. uugggh!!! does this mean i didnt get in!?!?!?!

let’s all just take a deep breath and relax…breathe in, breathe out

If you guys can see the financial aid summary on ursa that means you are (mostly) being accepted. There’s no reason to update all applicants’ financial stuff on ursa.
However, it dosen’t mean that you are being rejected if you can’t see the summary at this time… so just wait for one more week and you’ll see.
Ah, incomplete is nothing. The important thing is whether you can see the whole stuff or not.

wlfkfrkrls nice post! I hope this responds the question to sha22. FINAID SUMMARY!

chesser, are you male or female.? I’m just curious ^__^

thanks wlfkfrkrls. ok so new update. My friend checked his and it said there wasnt anything available in any of the links. He didnt file a fasfa (because he didnt need one, lucky lol) does this mean anything?
