So I recently got admitted into UCSD as a freshman Structural engineer, but my primary choice was Mechanical. So my question is, how hard is it to switch into mechanical engineering at UCSD?
Probably not that difficult as you are already in the school of engineering.

@3ngineertalk It’s equally difficult for an engineer and a non-engineer to transfer to an impacted engineering major in a different department. You have to go through the same process as everyone else, which means applying after your first or second year. A lot of people transfer successfully, though, since you just need to keep a high GPA in the required classes.
