Change of MyFIT page?

I applied after the priority deadline as a transfer into to 1-yr AAS FBM degree program. They were (and still are) still accepting applications for the 1 year, but not the 2 year. Today, my MyFIT portal changed my major from 1-Year to 2-Year. I am confused because I didn’t get a transfer credit evaluation, and apparently a decision was made on my application and a letter is being mailed within the week. I have over 75 college credits, but am missing a few gen-ed requirements, like my current college doesn’t require a math class so I don’t have any math credits. Does this mean I was flat out denied because they are no longer accepting 2 year apps? Or does it mean I was accepted, just not for the 1 year program? I feel like if they were going to go through the process of changing my major on the portal instead of just keeping it, it may be they just put me as 2 year? Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!

@vocalist9597 When I applied as a transfer three years ago they had changed my major from the regular FBM program to the 1-Year once I was accepted because had about 40 credits. What general ed classes did you take at your previous college?

@TransferAppFIT I had a good amount of liberal arts but I was missing a language and math, I believe… I have 75 credits but a lot of them are non liberal arts. I spoke to an admissions counselor on the phone today and he said that i should be getting my letter any day now. I’m assuming if they went through the effort of changing it instead of rejecting me outright is a good sign but I cant afford to start college all over again. I’m just hoping that I can convince them to let me take summer classes or something to start as a 1 year AAS in the fall.

hey how do i check how many credits got transferred over?

@vocalist9597 Can you keep us posted on whether or not you got accepted? I am kind of in the same boat as you, where I have credits to transfer and the school changed my major from AAS to BS. I am applying to the Textile Design and Marketing program. When I sent an email, they replied back this week saying that my transfer credits are still under evaluation and that I should be hearing something back shortly.

@pizzawhat i dont think there is a way to check online? im not sure.

they apparently sent my letter out on monday or tuesday, and i still havent gotten anything. i live an hour away from the city so its a little strange… im freaking myself out

@vocalist9597 that is odd but don’t count yourself out just yet. Sometimes people who apply late are notified in late April. If or when you do take Summer classes, you should apply for Spring 2018 in August. Its easier especially when you apply earlier.

@pizzawhat If you paid the tuition deposit already try checkin your Unofficial Transcript or DARS Audit (Student > Online Resources). If you’re still in school I think they wait til your last transcript to approve credits. You could always e-mail Registrar.

@TransferAppFIT Do you think I got waitlisted if I applied late? They were still accepting applications for the 1 year program when I applied, but not the two year. The fact they put me down as that now concerns me because I know theres already a huge waitlist and I wasnt a priority applicant…

@vocalist9597 if they placed the 2 year instead of the 1 year program under your student portal then it’s a possibility you were waitlisted but then again they may have placed you into the program. Just know whatever the decision, you can get into FIT.

@vocalist9597 I was wondering if you had heard back from the school yet about our acceptance? I am still waiting to hear back… :open_mouth:
