Change your major once you transfer?

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to change your major once you are accepted as a transfer student to UCLA or UCB?

I plan to speak to an adviser, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this already.

I got admitted into UCLA as a chemistry major, but I plan to change to one of their biology majors.

endersgame UCLA does not allow people to change it to Bio! it's restricted! part of policy!

what?? yes you can change to several of the bio majors at UCLA. The major reqs are the same with the addition of bio. So if you haven't taken any bio at your current school you will be a little behind and should consider summer school if you want to graduate on time. Psychobio is the only impacted bio major and you can only switch if you will have 135 or less units (including AP units!) AFTER completing all the prereqs. Otherwise you can go to MIMG or MCDB easily, probably EEB and General bio too. If you want PhySci or Neuro you will be really behind because they have full year sequence courses (A-B-C).

due to large number of students changing majors into life sciences, they have said that they will not allow it once you transfer in. that's my issue too. i wanna get into ucla next year as a transfer but i wanna major in physiology and that's a life science major and it sucks because since it is impacted, i have a lower chance of even getting in the school. i'm seriously thinking about doing some bs major to just get in ucla. hey guys i just wanted to know about number of units max before transfer. by the spring of 09 i will have 125ish units. and i know that ucla automatically rejects over a certain unit but i don't really have a choice because i have to complete all pre reqs for major and do all breadths at uci. so what is max units? and what is the easiest major to get in at ucla between the following: physiological science, biochemistry, neuroscience. i'm also going to double majoring, the other major being spanish or iranian studies.

Here is the average admit GPAs for transfers in the year 2007 for each major. UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2007

thanks for that site. but i've already gone there. i wanted to know from people on this site. not stats. real people. hehe thanks though

Found this: UCLA Undergrad Admissions: New Bruins - Changing Majors

Doesn't really give that much info, but it's something.
