Changed Highschools

Hello,
I changed high-schools in my senior year due to several reasons (will mention below ) and I had a few questions.
Reasons:

  1. Classes weren’t held at school and teachers made us attend classes at far centres that wasted 4 hours of my day only for transportation and sometimes I had two classes in differences external centres that my whole day would be lost .
  2. The quality of education was lagging my physics teacher didn’t give us anything about the practical course !!! I had to self study it and got an overall 33/40 which is SO good given the circumstances I had.
3.my new highschool is very close to home , more competitive and has great teachers that teach at school

Now my questions are

  1. Should I get my counselor letter from my old school’s counselor or the new school’s
  2. Does this put me at a disadvantage in the application.
  3. I think it’s possible to get back to my school , should I do that and try to cope with the challenges ? Or what?
    Thanks,
  1. What counselor letter? A letter of recommendation? If so, get one from the person who knows you best. You will need to ask the counselor of your new school for transcripts of all the courses you've taken there.
  2. Changing schools in itself doesn't put you at a disadvantage, but if you've had a dramatic drop in grades (for example) that might. Also, you will have to provide transcripts from both schools: American universities will want to see your entire high school record.
  3. Impossible to advise you on this one since we don't know enough about your situation or the schools involved. The big issue is whether the new school will offer you the courses and the transcripts you will need in order to apply to US universities.

The latter school offers everything and even s larger pool of topics also has a maths club that will help me in my preparation for the maths olympiad
