Changed Major on App, didn't change essays...

Here's what happened:

I applied ED to Northwestern University in WCAS for Statistics. However, I decided to change majors about a week and a half ago because I thought Industrial Engineering would be a better choice for me. So I emailed NU and told them I wanted to switch the school I was applying to and gave them a reason. They said it was fine and amended my application.

However, in my Why NU? essay, I had a little statement about how I would love WCAS and the MENU program. I also wrote about how NU's academics appeal to me because it is strong in many areas and switching majors would allow me to have a spectacular academic experience for whatever I end up choosing.

My question is, am I screwed because I applied to McCormick and mentions MENU and WCAS in my essay?

in short, yes you are screwed.

lol jk i have no clue. maybe send a revised essay??

"also wrote about how NU's academics appeal to me because it is strong in many areas and switching majors would allow me to have a spectacular academic experience for whatever I end up choosing."

I think that helps a lot, kind of demonstrates what you just did and why it makes you eager to go to NU, the academic freedom/diversity or whatever you want to call it.

Thanks for the reply!

I had a feeling that line I wrote would help me out, but I'm still concerned about auto-rejection <_<

don't worry about it! especially since you wrote that line in your essay!
