See what the money offers are. As to marketing/finance being creative...I guess you could look at it that way. I don't think of marketing in that sense unless you are also doing the advertising etc. I guess you mean more creative than say accounting. I'd apply all around and see what money comes your way. As to taking the metro......i am all about public transport or cabs. I love to drive but not to work everyday from a suburb.....give me a big city apartment/coop and I am way happy. Funny how that works......I say work hard, eat out everyday and enjoy the sports/arts of a major metro. Good luck. I know you will find the right program for your own interests. If I were you I'd do a bit more research about the specific programs.

thanks a lot for your help.

colderemy -90% of the people on this forum will want you to go to the school that is ranked higher - the one that has the lower acceptance rate, higher test scores, and higher rank in the US News overall. Don't listen to them. Indiana has a top 10 business school in the nation. The Kelley School of Business is absolutely fantastic in Marketing. One of the top in the country. The entire school of business sets itself apart from the school itself. Don't judge the school on what it's statistics are. Remember - you make up the school. Not the stats of the applicants

If you want a mid-sized college town within an hour of a major city (Indianapolis), and experience the true "college experience", i'd say go for Indiana. Our school sends about 20 students OOS there every year and they all love it. NYU isn't going to give you a true college experience in the sense that it's not in a college town, it doesn't have the sports and spirit a school like Indiana does, and it's NYC. Honestly, I wouldn't consider NYU from what you have said about what you want in a school.

Top schools for Marketing include Penn, Michigan, UT-Austin, Berkeley, and UNC. Top schools in Finance include Penn, NYU, Michigan, Berkeley, and UT-Austin (notice the common trend here?). When it comes to Business in general, the top undergraduate programs on your list are Michigan, NYU, Indiana, Maryland, Arizona State, Boston College, in that order. Northwestern doesn't offer an undergraduate program in business.

I think you should consider Indiana. It sounds like you truly want to go there, you will likely get at least a half scholarship, and it's right up there with Michigan and NYU when it comes to reputation for compaines out of Business School. Okay, enough said. Here are your chances...

NYU - MATCH
Michigan - MATCH
Boston College - MATCH
Maryland - MATCH/SAFETY
Indiana - SAFETY
Arizona State - SAFETY

Thanks for your reply. I think I am going to apply to all of them and see what happens.
