my mom bought this book about correcting pronunciation, and one thing it mentions interested me.

it says in the book that english-speakers' tongues rest on the bottom of their mouths, tongue's end touching the back of their bottom teeth. it says that asians' tongues rest touching the roof of the mouth.
i'm not so sure about this, because i have been speaking english for a very long time. my tongue rests on the bottom part, but when i speak in korean for a while it's on the roof, though not too frequently.

just wondering how u guys feel about that. my mom is practicing resting the tongue on the floor of the mouth, and is having a hard time doing that. :D

lol... how do you rest your tongue on the roof?... I'm chinese with a bit of chinese accent and have no idea how to correct it . (annoying part is it's keeping me out of school plays!)

Interesting...I've been told I speak with an American accent, and I haven't noticed where my tongue lies. tries it Well...seems like my tongue moves wherever it has to go...

About the accents; my school's putting on a musical melodrama set in England, medieval times (with highwaymen and such). Our director's (Brit) pushing us to get rid of the American accents. :D He makes "slurs" about it. Heeheee. He's just teasing our choral director (American).
