Changing Elective Courses as a Senior

I'm an early decision admit, and I'm planning on dropping an elective course, Ethnic Studies. Obviously, it's not because of the course difficulty, but because I was somewhat misled about the class when I signed up for it. I expected a serious course on the history of American minority groups, the role of race in America, and the nature of cultural exchanges, but I walked into How To Hate White People 101, and it's not really a serious course, as I didn't expect to have coloring assignments in 12th grade.

Now, I'm planning to drop it, and replace it with a period dedicated to being a Teaching Assistant. I obviously know I need to notify my college, but I'm wondering if this would be a serious problem, because I worry that my college will view my second-semester schedule as not being as "academically rigorous" as the one I had originally planned.

My daughter changed her senior schedule because she is participating in a job shadowing experience. I don’t think it will matter. Perhaps you could send your college a brief written summary of your new activity?
