I'm thinking about declaring my major as history when i apply, but im worried if later on while im at college i decide im more interested in something else, will i be forced to stay within this major?
Thanks!

Not at all! The average college student changes majors at least 3 times, according to statistics I've heard somewhere. Every college will give you the option to change your major, at least in your freshman or sophomore year when there is still time to get in the necessary classes to graduate under a certain major.

If you'd like, declare a history major now, and if after several months of college you find it doesn't suit you, you should talk to your adviser and be able to switch majors without much of a problem. That is, assuming you don't make a radical jump, such as from history to chemical engineering or piano performance. :)
