Changing majors is so hard? have to wait a whole year?

Hey.

I was accepted into Bing as School of Management Guaranteed Transfer track for accounting. However in the past few months (before I sent in my app), i’ve had a change of heart and want to pursue mechanical engineering.

however i was told that id have to wait a whole year (until fall) to do an intra-school transfer. so would i be wasting my year on the accounting track? is it just better to go to community college in this circumstance? i really didnt want to but it seems like i have no choice now.

@Rabiya If your college is telling you that you are going to have to wait a year then YES. Community college will save you money and you can transfer into a better 4-year institution after 2 years.

I could not have gotten into any good school out of high school. Now, I am transferring, hopefully, to UCLA or Berkeley.

Community college can be AMAZING if you allow it to be.
