Are we allowed to? I mean, as a newly accepted transfer student. I applied as a psychology major and was accepted as "pre social science", since my community college didn't offer some of the required prerequisite courses. I'm assuming we are able to, but I was wondering the relative difficulty with advising and all that. I'm interested in biology as a major (minimum admission requirements/non-competitive).

Two things:

“pre social science” means you are not officially in any certain major but you plan on applying to one in the social science field. Thus, going with biology would not be switching majors (since you are not in one).

Regardless, even if you were in a major (which you are not) It’s easy to change majors. You fill out a form at the major you want to drop when your ready. You apply for the new major when your ready. This does not need to be done at the same time (but one would want to get into the new major before dropping the old).
