Changing Majors

Yes, I'm still a hs senior and haven't even gone to college yet and I want to change majors already. Before I've even decided on the school I'm actually going to go to.

I applied for biology-related fields to all the schools I aplied for (ranging from biomedical engineer to biochemistry), as I thought I kind of "had to" for medical school, but I realized now that I don't have to and that I can instead pursue another field like English or journalism or anything else.

Once I've decided what school I'll send my SIR to, can I contact them and try to change my majors? Or should I wait until fall when I get to school? But then... wouldn't I have to set up my freshman schedule before then? I want to start out with my "new" major, instead of having to switch classes and get in a mumbojumbochaos and miss lectures/class!
Advise please!

call/e-mail the school(s).

totally depends on the college youre going to attend. at some schools it would be something you should do (but not now, wait until may when things cool down). at others you wont even be allowed to declare your major until spring of sophomore year.

Well. I haven't decided yet, nor am I going to know for sure until a while later.

I am thinking UCSD now. Whether I get into Emory or Boston College via waitlist may change that, but UCSD is where I will most likely end up.

How is it to change majors there? At UCSD?
