Is it easy to shift majors at Pomona? I am an Indian male and will be applying to Pomona as an Environmental Analysis major at Pomona. Would it be easy to shift to a major like Computer Science or Physics?
You aren’t tied to what you put on your application, and you don’t have to declare your major until the end of your sophomore year. For some of the STEM majors, you need to start taking classes early on so that you’ll have the prerequisites for later on, so you may have fewer electives available, but overall it’s very doable to start off not sure exactly what you want to choose. Many Pomona students major in something other than what they put on their application because they’re influenced by the courses they take — that’s what the liberal arts are about!
You don’t come into a certain major, every freshman is “undeclared”. Take classes early on that you might need if you are thinking about multiple majors and you must decide by the end of sophomore year. After that, it can be difficult to switch majors.
Thank you @SienaRose .
