Changing Major Before Entering

Does anyone know if it’s possible to change my major before I enter school as an undergraduate freshman? I was accepted into Cal Poly Pomona into the Psychology program but I want to change my major to Hospitality and Restaurant Management. Is it possible to do this or do I have to wait until my first quarter is up?

I doubt they will let you change until you are enrolled but, you can sign up for the classes required by your desired major. - then switch when its open to you.

I think you’ll have to wait but why does it matter?

Your first two years are generally a ton of general eds and lower-division requirements. My first semester of college I just took general eds and switched my major.

You don’t need to be in the hospitality major to take the classes. I think the only classes restricted by major that I know of are engineering classes. It is not easy to take them being in another major.

I went on a tour a few weeks ago and someone asked our guide about switching majors, and he said it is a pretty long process, and you’re not guaranteed to get it, especially if it is not in the same department you were admitted to. As always though, I’d call the school directly to fnd out.
