Changing my major from teaching to SLP but supposed to graduate in one year?

Before I chose my teaching major, I had no idea what I wanted to pursue. Even now, I still do not know if I want to become a teacher. I have thought about changing my major for many years but I did not know if I was smart or passionate enough for the other majors.

I have thought about nursing and SLP because they are just as fulfilling as teaching. I love helping people and spent a lot of time researching on and thinking about a career in SLP. I thought about SLP because I enjoyed the 2 linguistics courses I took. I know that linguistics and SLP are different but jobs in linguistics seem to be limited. So, SLP seems like a good alternative. I am well aware that the major is competitive and it will be difficult to get into grad school. Thing is, I’m not sure if I will be smart enough to get accepted into grad school. I’m not sure how the job outlook is in Los Angeles, CA but I would be willing to move if I must. I might even pursue a career as a SLP assistant. I have not found much information on that career so if anyone knows please let me know!
