Changing Roommates?

I'm an incoming freshman. Recently, my roommate sent me a Facebook message telling me a couple things about what living with her would be like. I won't go into detail about what exactly she said and what I saw on her Facebook profile, but the point is I'm 110% sure I am not going to get along with her.

So far, I've come up with a couple of options:
1. Find a roommate on my own, and reassign to live with her.
2. Transfer out of the building I'm currently assigned to. I'm currently in Trojan Hall, but I'm open to anything that costs under $4000 a semester.
3. Transfer into a special interest community. For me, that would be the "women in science & engineering" floor in Marks Hall.

Some questions about these options:
1. Is there any way I can get in touch with other prospective USC students who are also dissatisfied with their roommate? At this point, I'm willing to room with almost anyone.
2. Which housing options are less popular than Marks Hall? As in, what should I put down to increase my chances of getting reassigned?
3. Is it possible for me to transfer into a special interest community after the fact? The housing reassignment form doesn't give me the option to do that.

When DS was a freshman he was assigned to Marks Hall. He had an odd roommate. They didn’t argue, just coexisted and stated out of each others way as much as possible. This forced him to make friends with a great group of guys on his floor. They will be apartment mates for the rest of their time at SC. So his incompatible roommate forced him out of his room to connect with friends in a more authentic way. As an aside, they are engineers and made friends with girls on the special interest floor at DMX. They are a “tribe of 12” and have so much fun together!
