Changing roommates?

I read one post that said "unless it's practically a health hazard" that you can't do it. But I was wondering if anyone else had any insight on the question of changing roommates.

Do you not like your roommate already?

exactly...devoting your first post to that topic ;) .... i dont think that there would be anyway by which you can, but ask phil, the most reliable source for the 09ers :)

if you have "issues" with your roomate once on campus the rca will try to fix them...if the RCA thinks a roomate switch is good, then he can put that into motion (affter talkin to the college master, housing etc. etc.)

Yea..why not give your roommate a chance first?

It's apparently easier if you find someone in your college who wants to switch with you, and has equally compelling reasons. But yeah... give your roomie a chance.

Bonshi - what happened that made you ask about changing?

If you explained it then we would be able to say whether it's one of those 'health hazard issues' or not. :)

"Health hazard" = "My roommate threatened me with a knife", not "My roommates a townie and I want to live in a castle", fyi.

Health Hazard: I'm getting dangerously low amounts of rest and sleep because I'm always sexiled by my roommate!

lol Revan. how terrible for you!

I just hope my roommate finds a girlfriend with a single!

I just hope my roomate finds a boyfriend with a single. :p

Haha see, that's why I asked for a single. It's quite a considerate measure on my part, so I won't have to sexile anyone :p

I JUST understood the word "sexiling" etc. That is clever. I've been reading it as "sex-ih-ling" not "sex-eye-ling" and I've just been making fun of all of you in my head for talking weird.

Yeah, changing roommates is practically impossible. Your RCA will work through your problems with you, but you're pretty much stuck unless the kid tries to take your life or something, heh. And like everyone else has said, you haven't met the girl/guy (I assume)...give him/her a chance ;)

And welcome to college, prettyfish :D

:D, prettyfish. So how did you read Revan's comment that he was being sexiled by his (male) roommate? aheh, takes my 'terrible' to a new level (unless he's into that sort of thing of course).

I don't even know; I've been skipping over the word because it annoyed me. I'm like, "there are MUCH better euphemisms than this thing that sounds like a salamander"

Well, thanks for the help everyone. I was just wondering, no need to get on my back haha

O.o now that you mention it, it really does sound like a salamander.

prettyfish.... auch... I'm not sick!
Whatever you imagined to be the meaning of "I am sexiled by my roommate" , I'm not into it!!!
