Hey guys,

I have a quick question. Since I am in top 4% of my school I got admitted to the University Itself but not to the major/department of my choice. I realized I signed up for a major I don't want to major in as my second choice. If I call the offices of undergraduate admissions or contact my undergraduate admissions counselor can they change it or is it practically locked in? Any help is appreciated and YES THIS IS URGENT!

Thanks

Just call first thing tomorrow morning and ask!

Your major does not really have a huge effect the first couple of semester (some programs it can make a difference…so grain of salt here) so you can switch once you get settled.

^^ I signed up for the wrong major though! I don’t want to to that major! Its biology btw its on the opposite spectrum of what I wish to major in…

well if you want to switch into any school other than business, engineering, or architecture it is very easy and for your first couple semesters you are taking general classes anyway so you can take what you need to take regardless of the school you are in

I am trying to get out of natural sciences to liberal arts… biology ----> government/poli sci

liberal arts is very easy to internally transfer into, so if you can’t get it changed don’t worry about it. I think you only need like a 2.5

^^ do you have to wait one semester or one year before transferring?

my roommate changed at orientation. so you could always do it then!
