I had signed up for Honors French 4, but to take it I have to drive to a school across town. This presents a problem for me, and I want to change. I'm thinking about taking Agricultural/Animal Science. It's not an honors class, but I wonder if they'll see me abandoning an honors class and think poorly of me. Will this effect my chances much?

I doubt it. Dropping or chaning an AP course or multiple honors courses would send a red flag.

In any case, you should ask the admission office.

It’s not multiple courses. It’s one course, and it’s just honors. Hopefully I can find a better arrangement, but I wonder if French will make a big impact on my COE application of traded for a science.

I just got an e-mail from UMich yesterday saying “Congrats on your acceptance. Remember not to drop any AP or honor courses.” So, although your situation is unique, I bet they will not be big fans of the idea. Be warned, though, I called my admissions counselor to ask about course dropping/changing and it went very badly.

Thanks guys for some of the advice. I ended up changing my courses but making them more difficult while also more convenient. French 4 was replaced with Human anatomy, and I got rid of some schedule filler I was stuck with.

One of my friends dropped an honors class and he got revoked from UMich. I wouldn’t recommend it.
