Chanmugathas for 14C?

Anyone take Chanmugathas for 14C over the summer? I'm taking him/her during the fall quarter (ugh, how could I miss my first pass!?). Anyone care to give a difficulty rating? Ability to teach? Tips to succeed in the class?

Or, you can scout out the registrar's site daily for people who've dropped. Me and my gf got into hardinger's section this way over the past week.

i had him for the summer. lectures can be a drag because he lectures right out of the book. tests are very fair. i compared his tests with hardinger's tests and they are not as difficult as hardinger's. he has a really thick accent, but its not a problem after the first week of lecture. i did well in the class, but it wasnt fun

now well, as in an A or what...?

What does it matter to you?

look ma'am, im tryin to do well (A's) at UCLA. therefore i am inquiring about it. now is that too much to ask???

i can tell you a lot about certain professors, but ultimately, it comes down to self-discipline

if you really must know, you can pm me

Update: I was actually able to get into Hardinger's class. But now I wonder if I should stick with him or go with the new guy :P
Apparently, Hardinger is "arrogant and pompous," etc. (per bruinwalk, of course). Does Chanmugathas curve, or use the adjusted straight scale like Hardinger?

on the syllabus he gave us it had the straight scale, but when i got my grade i found out it didnt exactly follow the straight scale. i dont know what to tell you

I didn't realize that questioning a person's GPA was a method for gauging how to "do well (A's) at UCLA."

I actually am taking the new guy's class now. I have friends in Hardinger's class and the Chanmugathas prof is WAAAAAY better. He's lecture style is more traditional but I can actually understand this guy! He really knows his stuff and can make this stuff actually make sense!

I actually switched to Chatamugathas's class, because the tests are easier (according to a friend who took him over the summer).

Lecture wise, I think both are the same, but Chatamugathas is much more approachable in OH.

Hardinger is not that hard. If you just do the CFQ's, PP's, and past exams (frget about the owls-they're a waste of time) you will get an A-.
